Ideally your concept could work with any host or be produced in any language and still be identifiable as your original pitch. Your concept should align with your passions and interests so you stay motivated and are able to provide quality, authentic content.

The best ideas are simple to explain but also flexible enough so you could create hundreds of episodes related to the central concept.Use your original concept as a reference throughout the production process. Ask yourself constantly if things have changed and if your approach still makes sense. If the concept does change during the production of a show, ask yourself if you need to go back and adjust earlier episodes. Why does the world need this podcast? This can be a hard question to answer. Maybe there’s nothing quite like it out there or you’ve got a unique take on an issue. You want to stay true to your vision and passion, but your podcast should ideally address a need or a problem or provide a new perspective on things.Setting limits too early. At the start you should ask yourself: if there were no limits, what would my podcast sound like? Dream big at the beginning and then gradually scale things back according to your budget and resources.

  • Are other podcasts tackling this topic?
  • What’s new that your show can bring to the table?
